This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) outlines how SafeLease Insurance Services LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Tenant Protection Program Opt-Out form available at www.privatepolicy.com (the “Form”). By using the Form, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you use the Form, submit information via the Form, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information You Disclose to Us
The personal information that we collect from you depends on your use of the Form. The personal information we collect may include the following:
We process your personal information, which you input into the Form, solely to determine compliance with the terms of your rental agreement with the self-storage facility that has agreed to offer tenant protection plans administered by SafeLease (the “Purpose”).
We share your personal information, which you input into the Form, upon receipt, only with the self-storage facility from whom you rent one or more self-storage units and with whom you have entered into a rental agreement for such self-storage units.
We currently do not use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set forth in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).
When we have no ongoing business purpose requiring us to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from processing until deletion is possible.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information through the Form is at your own risk. You should only access and use the Form within a secure environment.
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Form, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at compliance@safelease.com.
If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section “HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?” below. However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.

We have not disclosed, sold, or shared any personal information to third parties for any purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months. We do not sell or share with third parties, other than as disclosed in this Policy, personal information belonging to Form users. We may use your personal information for our own business purposes, such as for undertaking internal research for technological development and demonstration. This is not considered to be “selling” of your personal information.
California Residents
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year.

Verification Process
Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. These verification efforts require us to ask you to provide information so that we can match it with information you have previously provided us. For instance, depending on the type of request you submit, we may ask you to provide certain information so that we can match the information you provide with the information we already have on file, or we may contact you through a communication method (e.g., phone or email) that you have previously provided to us. We may also use other verification methods as the circumstances dictate.
We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. To the extent possible, we will avoid requesting additional information from you for the purposes of verification. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes. We will delete such additionally provided information as soon as we finish verifying you.

Verification Process
We may request that you provide additional information reasonably necessary to verify you and your consumer's request. If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request. Upon receiving your request, we will respond without undue delay, but in all cases, within forty-five (45) days of receipt. The response period may be extended once by forty-five (45) additional days when reasonably necessary. We will inform you of any such extension within the initial 45-day response period, together with the reason for the extension.
Right to Appeal
If we decline to take action regarding your request, we will inform you of our decision and reasoning behind it. If you wish to appeal our decision, please email us at compliance@safelease.com. Within sixty (60) days of receipt of an appeal, we will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions. If your appeal is denied, you may contact the Attorney General to submit a complaint.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Revised” date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification.
